P.S. I like A Song of Ice and Fire but yeah it is very nihilistic. That's why I also enjoy fanfics of ASOIAF like A Song of Three Sons by Psychic Ninja. I find these fanfics to have a bit more genuine goodness/wholesomeness in them and less cynicism. Peace
They are both excellent and the pinnacle of writing in their own mediums. You're essentially comparing a 1200+ page chapter novel to an artistically-philosophical manga. Yoshikawa’s Musashi offers a traditional adventure narrative rooted in historical drama, while Inoue’s Vagabond provides an artistic exploration of existential themes through stunning visuals and introspective storytelling.
Both are probably perfect. To compare and who is better is absolutely unfair due to the boundaries placed by the area of focus in terms of if its artistic or chapter form. One relies heavily on the language the power of it while the other relies on visual representation, to fully illustrate philosophical themes. This was a nice, detailed comment you made, with a bunch of history though.
Thank-you.
Excellent. Thank you.
